Newsec Property Outlook

Finnish Newsec Property Outlook Spring 2018

The Finnish economy was strong all through 2017 and according to forecasts by several financial institutions and the Ministry of Finance, GDP growth will be around three percent. Although 2018 also looks promising, it is estimated that growth will slow down to approximately 2.5% and to 2% in 2019. Despite the projected continuing growth in the world economy and improved prospects in the eurozone in particular, the largest factor hindering growth in Finland is the weak growth in private consumer demand caused by wage development. Other factors impacting our economy, such as economic growth in our most significant export countries and improved employment and work productivity, will continue to develop in accordance with the forecasts in 2018 and 2019. Construction will also remain active in growth centres.
