The wind farm is located in the Southern Sweden SE3 price area. As part of the transaction, OX2 will deliver the wind farm via a construction and asset management agreement and manage long-term operations via a 15-year technical and commercial management agreement.

Via this acquisition, ewz, owned by the city of Zurich, further strengthens its footprint as a renewable energy producer on the Nordic market. ewz business strategy focuses on investing in renewable energy in Sweden, Norway, France and Switzerland.

OX2 develops and sells renewable energy solutions at scale and is one of the largest developers of onshore wind power in Europe. The divestment is completed as part of this strategy.

Hillevi Priscar, Country Manager OX2, commented on the collaboration:

We are happy to sign the agreement with ewz and look forward to realise another renewable energy project and continue to drive the great shift towards a sustainable future. We also want to thank Newsec and all parties for a great co-operation.

Omid Ashrafi, Managing Partner at Newsec, commented:

We are proud for the vote of confidence supporting OX2 on this transaction and to be part of ewz’s expansion. It has been a pleasure to work with both teams in finalizing this transaction in a swift and efficient process. The wind farm offers a today relatively scarce opportunity for establishing new large-scale renewable energy production in the southern price areas of Sweden. As such, it is an important step for the energy transition in Sweden. We look very much forward to following it through successful construction and hope for further unlocking of cost-competitive new renewable energy production in high-power-consumption areas of Sweden.
