Following the summer, it can be concluded that although the coronavirus did cause markets to slow down, also in Finland, it did not bring them to a complete standstill.
Despite the current situation, domestic and international investors continue to show interest in the Finnish property market. Capital must still be invested. However, the mood in the investment market remains rather cautious.
In the current market situation, significant impacts on property yields have not been seen because only a couple of real estate transactions have been started and concluded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Investors consider residential properties a safe investment and the markets have continued to be active. Residential and logistics, however, are defensive real estate investment categories. Furthermore, public properties have increased their market share in the transactions market.
In the autumn 2020 report, we focus especially on residential, which is currently one of the most interesting and one of the most active asset classes. Furthermore, we evaluate broadly the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the different sectors of the real estate industry.
