The Gasum energy company is a Nordic gas industry specialist that works with partners to promote a carbon-neutral society on land and at sea. The company imports natural gas to Finland, promoting a circular economy through waste recycling, biogas generating and biowaste reprocessing in Finland and Sweden. It supplies energy for generating electric power and heating for industry, and for land and maritime transportation.
The Head Office of Gasum is in the middle of the Keilaniemi development area in Espoo, where everyday noise significantly disturbs the company’s work. The size and type of the company’s office premises were also unsuitable for its current requirements. Gasum needed specialist help to consider the future location and spatial design of its principal place of business.
The Newsec service portfolio of lessee representation, spatial design and space project management was an ideal fit for the requirements of Gasum, which chose Newsec as its partner for this project.
We launched the project by studying the work profiles of Gasum staff, the use of space, and the company’s other space requirements. This investigation provided grounds for formulating criteria for the new office premises that would help in identifying suitable new head office options in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. After the new location had been chosen, Newsec worked with Gasum to design a multi-space office for the site that would allow for a range of current and future employee profiles and working styles. Newsec project management then ensured that the office conversion work was completed to specification and on time.
The outcome of the project was a new Head Office for Gasum in Tapiola, Espoo, that met the needs of the client in respect of location, working conditions and financial objectives. Gasum secured modern, refreshing working conditions while realising substantial monthly cost savings through a substantial improvement in space efficiency.
