Spring 2023
In 2022, the total volume of real estate transactions was EUR 7.0 billion, the fourth highest volume ever and the same level as the year before. An active first half of the year boosted the volume for the full year.
In the first half of 2022, real estate investments reached a record high. Entering the second half, the war in Ukraine, high inflation and rising capital costs slowed down real estate transactions significantly.
The year 2023 has started quietly in terms of deal making. The caution is expected to continue through the first half of the year. After a more passive period, Newsec expects a more active period in the second half of the year.
In the 2023 Finnish Property Outlook, we focus on the Finnish, Nordic and European real estate markets. Also, this issue includes an outlook on the Nordic energy transition. In addition to real estate transactions, Newsec has established a strong position in renewable energy and energy transition, being involved annually in numerous wind and solar power transactions.
